Finished reading: The Notebook by Roland Allen 📚

I listened to this on Audible. The book didn’t engage me, and I found myself getting bored halfway through. I ended up skipping a few chapters and only listening to the ones that interested me.

One thing that really stuck with me was Expressive Writing by James Pennebaker. I journal quite consistently and prefer a stream-of-consciousness style of writing. I’ve fallen off the habit recently, but this has inspired me to pick it up again.

🎯 Attended Doing to Done Productivity Masterclass.

💔 Emotionally drained over the weekend.

🚶‍♂️ Decided to move for 1hr daily. Walking, running, stretching etc. Anything goes!

🎧 Finished The Notebook: A History of Thinking on Paper by Roland Allen on Audible. It didn’t engage me. I skipped chapters and listened to few that interested me. ⭐️⭐️

🏡 Loved watching an Aussie Poet’s Tiny House video. The man is super inspirational. A true Aussie mate.

I just saw an Instagram reel where someone recommended Wetherspoons to Americans as a ‘highly recommended restaurant.’ Since when did Spoons qualify as a restaurant? I reckon we start recommending the most random and questionable spots in the UK to our American friends just to mess with them.

Review for Death Row by Freida McFadden

Finished reading: Death Row by Freida McFadden 📚

I’m really confused after reading this book. Talia is on death row for murdering her husband, and from the first page, I was intrigued. The pace definitely kept me going, but I was so disappointed by the epilogue. It left me frustrated—did everything just happen for nothing? I’m not happy with how this novella ended. Read it if you want to hit your reading goal, but otherwise, it isn’t worth the time.

In short: it’s fast-paced, but the epilogue left me completely confused and frustrated.

After a week of rain and cold weather, the sun finally came out in Warrington today. I headed out for a long walk, even with my right ear feeling blocked. It was actually quite refreshing to walk without earphones, just taking in the ambient noise and the sounds of the world around me.

Being Consistent in 2026

As I step into the New Year 2026, I’ve renewed my Micro.blog subscription and I’m truly glad to be back in the community.

This year, I’m starting with a single focus word: Consistency. My intention is to make small, steady improvements in all the good things—habits, relationships, and moments—that help make life more meaningful, joyful, reflective and grounded.

I was having a conversation with Headspace AI (Ebb) about feeling stressed by work deadlines and personal commitments. It suggested I do one thing every day just for myself. I like that idea and am planning to do one small thing for 30 days. Today, I did a 5-minute meditation. It felt great!
